File Browser is designed with privacy-first principles. The server runs on your watch and is intended for use only on your local WiFi network.

Analytics (No Personal Information)

We use analytics to improve reliability and understand which features are working well. Analytics data is designed to be anonymous and is not used to identify you.

Analytics may include aggregated usage events (e.g., feature usage counts), app version, device model, OS version, and crash/error diagnostics. It does not include your file contents or media.

Local-Only Operation

File Browser operates on your local devices. When you start the server, your watch hosts a local web interface you can open from devices on the same WiFi network. No data is sent to external servers or stored in the cloud.

Technical Details

Local Web Server

File Browser runs a local HTTP server on your watch (default port 2847) and serves a web UI. Access is intended for devices on the same WiFi network.

  • No account required
  • No internet dependency
  • Stops automatically after inactivity to save battery

App Permissions

File Browser requests permissions only to provide its core features:

  • Network: To run the local web server
  • Media: To list images, videos, and audio
  • Storage: To browse and manage files
  • Install packages: To initiate APK install flows (with system confirmation)
